Well, we missed the birth of our new foal Montesory (her barn name is Lori). I guess what a number of people were telling us is true, the mare doesn't want you around and will wait until she know you won't be back for a while to deliver. We have been so busy raising little Lori, attending shows, practicing and performing with the drill team, that I have neglected updates the news section. Presently, our mare Valentina is expecting a foal by Petrolero Del Juncal in February. With this birth, my daughter (and our web developer) is planning to place a web cam in the stall in the hopes of capturing the action and so I don't have to keep running to the barn to check on her in the middle of the night. Let's keep our fingers crossed that it will work. Also in February, we will be breeding our other two Paso Fino mares, Navidana del Juncal and Cenicienta de Fantasy, to Paso Largo Farm's Petrolero Del Juncal and expect to reap two more Classic Finos. Hopefully one of our beautifuls girls will give us a stallion.
The calendar contest has not had enough entries for us to produce a 2008 Paso Fino calendar, but we are not giving up. We are simply pushing back the calendar to 2009 and hope to have enough entries by August 2008 to have the Paso Fino calendar printed. So please don't forget to enter your horse in the contest. It is free to enter and everyone whose horse appears in the calendar will receive a free calendar. So, what do you have to lose?

Have you ever seen the birth of a new foal? We wouldn't be surprised if you said "No', since not everyone has been so lucky. Well, we have a special treat planned for you. Olympiada de Fantasy is ready to have her foal, and though we would like her to deliver on Saturday, April 28th, as that is the Sire's birthday (Petrolero de Juncal), Mother-Nature will not be controlled so we are expecting her to deliver it any day now. Here at Monte Paso Fino, we are on standby, ready with our camcorder to capture the birth of the new addition to our stable with plans to upload the footage on our site for you to watch and share with us our special gift. Keep checking our site, as we will have the footage up immediately following the delivery. We attended the Fun Show today at Ocala Equine Center and not only did we have a great deal of fun, but we also snapped off some fantastic pictures of the event.
